History and Development

Emsworth Community Association has a long history of successful development.  It was started in 1975 with eight founding groups, when the old Church of England primary school moved and the buildings became available.

With the number and range of activities increasing, more space was wanted. In 1987 the Lumley Room was added and the school playground turned into a car park. Then in 2004, the Mountford wing was built, providing further much-needed facilities.

More recently in 2016 the two wings of the building were opened up to create a single welcoming reception area and significant improvements were made throughout the building at the same time.

The Trustees have an ongoing program of maintenance and building improvements to ensure the Centre continues to serve the community well.
