Bridget Jones
          Mad About a Boy

Film number four in the Bridget Jones franchise got back to the first movie in so much as it being witty, strewn with one liners and a hint of romance too boot. I watched the movie last weekend, February 16, 2025 and found it to be entertaining, humorous and showing hints of the first movie and it's wonderful storyline. Bridget has had a rough few years which have seen her become a widow and single parent to twins, boy and girl, whilst holding down a stressful job as a screenwriter. To most this would be a nightmare scenario but in true Bridget Jones style she deals with it all effortlessly. The movie is all about Bridget's life and how she copes with parenthood, becoming a widow and holding down a job. What is good about the movie is the way it depicts a more rounded and all together Bridget whose life is less chaotic and her embarking on dating again. The object of Bridget's eye and desire comes in the guise of an unusual source and most unlikely person, in the most organic way possible which makes it all the more beautiful. It was refreshing to see Bridget settling down as a parent and in a new relationship, albeit with a younger man, whilst working in a prominent and productive job. Definitely worth the watch, if you are a fan, as you will not be disappointed.
